The Anticipated Sidney Jones Debut Is Here

As expected, cornerback Sidney Jones has been activated by the Philadelphia Eagles for today's game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Of course, the good news for the Eagles is that they got the win and the home-field advantage throughout the playoffs that comes with it.

The Eagles have already lost several important players to injury, including MVP candidate Carson Wentz.

If there's a good thing to all this is that it is better for the Birds to get all that bad play out of their system before playoffs begin.

Defensively, I don't believe that Doug Pederson should play his starters at all on Sunday.

It is possible, if not likely, that the three-judge panel in NY will rule as early as Thursday, after oral arguments, on whether Elliott can play Sunday at Atlanta. Sudfeld, a sixth-round pick by Washington in 2016, was inactive for 16 games his rookie season. Mills has been working on an ankle injury. Jones likely won't be a key player in the playoff run, but seeing what he can do in a low-stakes game may not be a frightful idea, either. After hopefully a few good drives, Foles and the Eagles first-team offense will take a back seat and the backups will get reps so they will be good to go if called upon in the postseason. Douglas has played very well so far this season and should get a lot of playing time regardless. Jones' Achilles injury forced him to watch from the sidelines, and some believe that might prove to be a blessing in disguise.

The Eagles have had one 50-yard rusher in the past two games.

The Eagles should start fast in the first half, as their starters are more talented than what Dallas has to offer.

After a strong performance against the New York Giants in his first start of the season, Nick Foles looked terrible against the Oakland Raiders. But he has followed up with two poor performances. "We just got to work on keeping it fixed". That was a sign of things to come for an out-of-whack Philadelphia offense, which finished 0 of 3 on third downs in four first quarter possessions and failed to put points on the board with Foles in the game.

Second-year pro Nate Sudfeld replaced Foles in his first career game.

"I don't want to not play them and then three weeks later they're playing a game". He needs to regain some experience and build chemistry with his receivers, but at the same time you don't want Foles or any of the receivers missing the playoffs with an avoidable injury.

As for the Eagles, the top seed in the NFC is wrapped up, though most of the starters will see at least some action as the squad looks to maintain its edge heading into the tournament. He was the first player to reach 100 against the Eagles since Washington's Matt Jones ran for 135 yards in Week 6 previous year.

With one week left in 2017 NFL season, numerous league's elite team's have already chose to rest their starters for the playoffs.

Turkey, Russia sign deal on supply of S-400 missiles
The reason for the discrepancy over the number of batteries Russian Federation would supply Turkey was not immediately clear. While pushing ahead with the S-400 project, Ankara has sought to secure defense deals with other countries as well.
