Steve Bannon to appear before US panel for Russia probe

Citing a person with direct knowledge of the matter, the U.S. newspaper said on January 16 that Bannon was subpoenaed last week by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is leading an inquiry into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election and possible collusion by associates of Trump.

In an interview with WABC radio host Rita Cosby, Lewandowski firmly denied any wrongdoing and said he would testify either Wednesday or Thursday.

The comment about the meeting being treasonous could be easily characterized by Bannon to investigators as a personal opinion. The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

Bannon hasn't been publicly accused of any wrongdoing.

With John Kelly's arrival as chief of staff and the defenestration of controversial chief strategist Steve Bannon, that back-biting has ebbed.

Police and neighbors say nothing indicated the family was in distress.
