Stage invader crashes the NTAs during VT for Bruce Forsyth


The National Television Awards 2018 were thrown into chaos during Tuesday night's ceremony after an intruder STORMED the stage.

Ant and Dec arrived at the ceremony just in the nick of time to accept the Best Challenge Show award for I'm A Celebrity.

Ant McPartlin and his sidekick Declan Donnelly won a hat-trick of prizes at Britain's National Television Awards, which are voted for by the public.

Get Me Out Of Here host reflected on the previous year, which saw him enter rehab for an addiction to painkillers and announce his divorce from wife of 11 years, Lisa Armstrong.

"They play the VTs and listen and Holly gets a big cheer and Phillip gets a big cheer and Bradley gets a big cheer and you think "it's one of them, it's one of them" and then the envelope opens and they say your name and it's just relief and elation and ecstasy".

In the award for best TV Presenter, Ant and Dec once again made the short list having won the title for a record-breaking 16 years.

Whilst on stage accepting the Entertainment Award - which was renamed to honour the legendary entertainer who passed away in August a year ago - they said: "It's an honour to pick this award up, the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award".

After receiving the award from head Strictly Come Dancing judge, Shirley Ballas, he told the crowd: 'Thank you, I'm shaking... Get Me Out Of Here!

Ant and Dec returned to the stage, winning the category with their Saturday Night Takeaway show.

'We started filming today [for Saturday Night Takeaway] and we have done a little tribute to Bruce, so we feel honoured'.

"If our television programmes have helped stir the consciences of people around the world, and that we are going to do something to protect our handsome world, then all of us will be very pleased".
