Florida sheriff's office seeks suspect in intersection shootout


The incident, which was caught by a driver's dash cam, took place around noon that day as two vehicles stopped at the intersection of "W" Street and Fairfield Drive, according to the Escambia County Sheriff's Office.

The incident occurred around noon on January 22 at the intersection of North W Street and West Fairfield Drive near Pensacola and was captured on another driver's dashcam, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office stated on Twitter when they posted the video. Two guns could be seen from the Lexus window and between six and seven shots were fired before the vehicle sped off. A passenger inside the Toyota jumps out and uses a red truck sitting between both suspect vehicles as a barrier.

ECSO deputies were able to recover the Toyota and arrested Jeremy Olds, suspected to be involved. He is identified as Jonathan James Harris.

He said an investigation has shown that one of the vehicle's' occupants owed the other car's occupants money.

The video, recorded by a woman who was parked at the red light, shows a silver Lexus speed up between the lanes to her right.

Police say they believe the shooting was drug related.
