Now that Marvel's Black Panther has taken the global box office, audiences have taken notice of a village in IL apparently pronounced the same way as the film's setting, but spelled differently: Wauconda.
Days after the events of Captain America: Civil War (2016), Prince T'Challa of Wakanda (Chadwick Boseman) is still mourning the death of his father, King T'Chaka (John Kani). And it is vibranium, along with the near-inexhaustible supply of it, that has made Wakanda the most technologically advanced nation on Earth. Iron Man is the first movie I saw at the Arclight, which is like my favorite theater in Los Angeles. "It feels tactile. I wanted to do that with Wakanda".
Patty Jenkins, the director of Wonder Woman also called the film's success "incredibly meaningful". The costume design and accessories, and the depiction of their rituals and religion was great! Okoye is as vicious as she is gentle and her fight in Korea is one of the best parts of the movie. Wakanda is the true representation of an African paradise. "We always grow up and we are portrayed as the villain and I think that movie made us look so handsome, so smart and so intelligent, and I think that's why so many people were excited for its release".
