The former football star is in spring training with the New York Mets.

The former Heisman Trophy victor is preparing for his second professional baseball season.

Tebow, 30, said it happened Monday or Tuesday. He did it in a freaky way, too.

Tim Tebow is day-to-day after spraining his left ankle in a freak accident early last week, the New York Mets said Sunday.

The Mets outfielder sprained his ankle while running out onto the field.

Nadkarni said, "We have looked up medical literature from all over the world and it is the largest to be excised successfully". Pal's surgery took a little over six hours to complete and required the skilled hands of five surgeons, Nadkarni included.

How? Well, he stepped on a sprinkler head in the outfield, naturally.

Thankfully, the injury does not appear to be serious.

Tebow has been hitting in the batting cage and shagging flies, but he's avoiding cuts on the bases. He's yet to appear in a game.

In a move perhaps unrelated, Tebow took to Twitter to share a Bible verse shortly after the news broke. Tebow signed a minor league contract with the Mets in September 2016, but didn't receive an invite to the MLB camp, according to the Bleacher Report.
