Free agent CB Sherman to visit 49ers


Sherman noted no date has been set for a meeting with the Lions, per ESPN's Josina Anderson.

Pelissero noted Saturday afternoon Sherman had been meeting with the San Francisco 49ers since Friday night. The results show a fan base mostly willing to forgive and forget any past Sherman incidents, though a large portion would do so only if the price is right.

When it comes to the San Francisco 49ers, they are a team on the rise. He told's Albert Breer the Seahawks "wanted the financial flexibility going into free agency but expressed that they wanted me to return and will be in contact".

"I want to go to a contender", Sherman said Friday on KIRO radio in Seattle. The four-time All-Pro is recovering from Achilles surgery, as well as a procedure earlier this offseason for what he's said removed bone spurs from his other ankle.

Worley, the Panthers' third-round draft pick in 2016, started 14 games this season with 64 tackles, two interceptions and a sack. He will join a young corner group in Philadelphia that now includes Jalen Mills , Ronald Darby, Sidney Jones and Rasul Douglas .

Sherman was released with a failed physical designation which allows him to be eligible for a $1.15 million injury guarantee if he never plays again.

Sherman played just nine games in 2017 before sustaining a season-ending ruptured Achilles tendon. Sherman went to high school in Southern California before heading to Stanford for college. Sherman expects to be ready for the regular season but could be limit in August for training camp and parts of the preseason. He was scheduled to count $13.2 million against the 2018 salary cap, but the Seahawks will save $11 million in cash and 2018 cap space by releasing him.

The 29-year-old spent the first seven seasons of his National Football League career with the Seahawks, including their Super Bowl winning season of 2013.
