Shloka is the daughter of prominent diamantaire Russell Mehta.

The rumours about their wedding have been rife for a while now but both the families have been tight-lipped on the subject. The news on their wedding had gained momentum in the backdrop of two diamond traders, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi fleeing India after committing financial frauds worth thousands of crores of rupees.

Akash Ambani, eldest son of Indian billionaire and chief of Reliance Industries Limited, Mukesh Ambani, has been engaged to Shloka Mehta, daughter of diamond magnate and MD of the Rosy Blue empire, Russell Mehta.

Media reports suggest that the duo got engaged in Goa on Saturday in presence of their immediate family members and friends and are planning to marry in December.

The marriage has been planned in early December with celebrations spread across 4-5 days.

"Mukesh and I have given very strong foundation to our kids and even larger wings to fly - they have the freedom to take decisions for themselves and of course, choose whom they would want to spend the rest of their lives with", she said.

The Ambanis and Mehtas reportedly know each other well. Nirav's brother is married to Mukesh Ambani's niece.

"As and when any good news is to be shared, the family will be delighted to share with everyone", the source had said then.

She is youngest of three children of Russell and Mona Mehta. Shloka after finishing schooling in 2009 went on to study Anthropology at Princeton University.

Shloka is also a co-founder of ConnectFor, which matches volunteers with NGOs that need them. Akash Ambani now works as a chief strategist for Jio and also is a director in Reliance Industries Limited.
