Man City eye club record move for Real Madrid ace

Isco will need to maintain his momentum at Real Madrid after scoring his first global hat-trick against Argentina, said Spain coach Julen Lopetegui.

"In Madrid, I don't have the confidence a player needs", Isco is quoted as saying on Marca's website following Spain's emphatic victory.

"I have the confidence of the coach and maybe in Madrid, I have not won that yet", he told reporters after the match.

Manchester City are preparing a club-record £75m summer move for Real Madrid's star midfielder Isco.

"I have congratulated the players and thanked them", added Lopetegui.

Spain coach Julen Lopetegui was reluctant to inject himself into the Real Madrid debate over Isco's situation last night.

Celtics provide update on knee of Kyrie Irving
Irving underwent surgery on his left knee Saturday and is expected to return to basketball activities in 3-to-6 weeks. Guard Marcus Thumb went under the knife to fix his torn thumb and forward Daniel Theis is out with a torn meniscus.

The Metro claim that Arsenal and Manchester City are also interested in signing Isco.

And Isco did little to dampen the transfer speculation when after the match he admitted he does not know how to win Zidane's trust at Los Blancos and has suffered for a lack of regular game time. "Of course, I want to show Zidane I can be counted on".

Costa had to be taken off after colliding with goalkeeper Sergio Romero for his goal but the striker indicated he would be fit to face Deportivo La Coruna this weekend.

The 27-year-old has scored six goals and made one assist in 28 Premier League games for Chelsea FC so far this season and he will be hoping to help the Blues end the campaign on a high.

This latest defeat in Madrid came on the back of Friday's stodgy 2-0 win over Italy and a 4-2 loss to Nigeria. "They made things hard for us, they were very aggressive". His incredible performances have caught Real Madrid's eye, who are keen on making him their prime target after the FIFA World Cup 2018.
