Manchester City's Sergio Aguero ruled out for season, fit for World Cup

Manchester City have announced Argentina striker Sergio Aguero will be out for the remainder of the Premier League season after he underwent a minor knee surgery today.

City's main backer Etihad Airways also produced a short video of congratulations which featured players Claudio Bravo, Danilo and Ilkay Gundogan.

Kun will miss City's five remaining fixtures, but is expected to be ready to go at this summer's World Cup where he will represent Argentina.

Aguero made another brief cameo appearance during City's vain attempt at a Champions League comeback against Liverpool last week, but manager Pep Guardiola ruled the 29-year-old out of Saturday's 3-1 win over Tottenham, citing Young's challenge as the cause of the injury.
