The president and vice president's campaign pitch called broadly for "more Republicans" to help implement the Trump agenda, but, being in IN, where Pence once served as governor, they focused significant attention on U.S. Senate candidate Mike Braun, who won his primary Tuesday and will face incumbent Democrat Sen.

Later, Trump seemed to take a swipe at the Obama administration for paying for hostages. "Maybe we'll want to give that a shot someday", Trump reportedly said. Joe Donnelly within the 2018 election.

Trump was certain to hail the return of three Americans who had been held captive in North Korea. He asked the crowd to vote Republican in November. And he criticized Donnelly for supporting the Iran nuclear deal forged by President Barack Obama and withdrawn from by Trump this week.

Trump, who was joined Thursday night by Vice President Mike Pence, the former governor of IN, praised the recently elected Republican candidates and welcomed newly nominated Republican Senate candidate Mike Braun to the stage.

"If I was in the Senate I would vote to confirm Gina Haspel to be the Central Intelligence Agency director", Braun said. Obama denied the payments were ransom, calling them a transparent matter and pointedly saying, "We do not pay ransom". "It's been one obstruction after another by the Democrats, including Indiana Senator Joe Donnelly". The Associated Press reported that Braun won 41 percent of the vote. Donnelly, Trump said, will "say one thing in Elkhart" and then support the "radical, liberal agenda". Trump branded Donnelly as "Sleepin' Joe", assailing him for opposing the president's signature tax cuts and the president's efforts to end the Affordable Care Act. "They tell him", Trump said.

Trump used tonight's rally to unveil his slogan for his 2020 re-election campaign.

"And we bought out that enviornment", Trump recalled of a marketing campaign occasion he did with Knight. We're going to set the table.

"The president takes his role as leader of the Republican Party very seriously, and after more than a year in office, he understands too few Democrats are willing to join hands across party lines to support issues that the American people resoundingly called for", said White House political director Bill Stepien. "But I do like that", Trump said.

As the Ranking Member of the Judiciary Committee put it yesterday: 'If [the Majority Leader] changes the rules for some judicial nominees, he is effectively changing them for all judicial nominees, including the Supreme Court.' Look: I realize this sort of wishful thinking might appeal to the uninitiated newcomers in the Democratic Conference who've served exactly zero days in the minority.
