The state education minister, K.A. Sengottaiyan announced the result on Wednesday during a press conference and later Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), who conducted the examination from March 16 and April 20, 2018, has uploaded the results on the official website at around 9.30 am. With 94.5 per cent, the overall pass percentage has increased by 0.1 per cent in comparison to past year.

Tamil Nadu DGE has declared their class 10th 2018 results, minutes earlier than the speculated time. While overall 91.1% students have cleared the exam, girls have outperformed boys this year as well with a pass percentage of 94.1%. Out of nearly 10 lakh students, about 2.6 lakh candidates of SSLC exam have bagged more than 400 out of 500 scores.
