The notice described the contents of the book as "a litany of malicious, false, incorrect, highly misleading, callous, wanton, tortious, prejudicial, damaging, libellous, and defamatory imputations".

A tell-all memoir by Imran Khan's second wife is causing uproar in Pakistan and threatens to derail the former cricketer's campaign to be elected prime minister next month.

PTI lawyer in his petition stated, Reham is working on the agenda of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and she is carrying out this conspiracy with the help of the former ambassador Hussain Haqqani. How sexual favours are used for political positions, and media positions.

She did not say that Imran had engaged in sexual harassment but claimed he had direct involvement in "nepotism or favours which have nothing to do with merit".

"I suppose people at the top have to take responsibility for what goes on in their households and in their party", she said.

Their relationship has been acrimonious ever since, particularly as Reham is expected to bring out her autobiography. PTI supporters fear such allegations or claims of infidelity could hurt Imran's appeal among Pakistan's conservative urban middle-class. Her alleged harassers were seeking to block the release of her book. She has also accused Khawaja of having an illicit affair with Khan.

Wasim Akram has sent a legal notice to Imran Khan's ex-wife Reham Khan, accusing the latter of defaming him in her upcoming autobiography. His first marriage was with Jemima Goldsmith, daughter of a British billionaire, in 1995, which lasted nine years.

Reham was married to Imran for 10-odd months in 2015, after which they divorced. However, he had rejected media reports that he had secretly married Bushra on 1 January.

The serious allegations against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief have been made in Reham's autobiographical book "Reham Khan", a leaked manuscript of which is available online.
