The NBA rumors surrounding the San Antonio Spurs and Kawhi Leonard are growing increasingly clear, with a new report that the team ignored a trade offer from the Celtics earlier this year and appear more determined than ever to ink a huge contract extension with their star forward.

However, if there were one thing to takeaway from that series against Boston, it would be Philadelphia is in desperate need of bringing in another star to play alongside Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.

"I'm told that Leonard and his camp would like to be offered it and would like to start to talk about that kind of a future with San Antonio, but so much has gone on in the previous year - Leonard taking his medical outside of the team, the disconnect between him and the organization over the last several months".

Woj, however, speculates that Boston may longer be interested in Leonard.

With the NBA Draft approaching, the Spurs are attempting to settle in-house business first, starting with Leonard. Leonard is expected to have a sit-down meeting with head coach Gregg Popovich soon, and they will discuss any issues or concerns Leonard may have had this past season.

According to Wojnarowski, trades for Kawhi Leonard aren't that foreign of a concept over the past several months. In his 22 seasons leading San Antonio, Popovich has missed the playoffs just once, that coming in his rookie campaign.

"The Boston Celtics made a trade offer to San Antonio before the February deadline, but the Spurs turned it down", Wojnarowski wrote. "So far this spring, the Spurs remain resistant to trades", Woj said.

The Spurs "never made a counterproposal", according to Woj, who cites league sources.

The summer of Sixers free agency is upon us, and there's definitely an interest in the team acquiring one of Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James, or Paul George. They also cited in their report that the 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers are still on the hunt for a Kawhi Leonard trade this offseason.
