Josie Totah, the young star of Mindy Kaling's NBC sitcom Champions, has written an emotional essay for Time in which she reveals she's transgender. She also played Stuart on Jessie! "In the past, I've halfway corrected people by telling them I identify as LGBTQ", she wrote in her Time essay. On the playground, I was the type of kid who wanted to sing with the girls, not play soccer with the boys.
"My pronouns are she, her and hers", Totah wrote. "I identify as female, specifically as a transgender female", Totah declared in the piece, which begins with her expressing how she believes she had been typecast as a "gay boy" without ever actually living by that identity.
Her TV mom Mindy Kaling tweeted: 'I love you, Josie.
Today, actor and 2018 HRC Visibility Award recipient Josie Totah came out as transgender in a powerful op-ed for Time. "It allows me to gain perspective, to be more accepting of others, because I know what it feels like to know you're not like everyone else". "And my name is Josie Totah".
"Numerous reporters have asked me in interviews how it feels to be a young gay man", she said in the essay.

Bajo ese argumento, la principal compañía del mercado volvió a subir sus precios en los surtidores. Según registros de este diario, el aumento entre el 8 de julio y la última suba promedió un 9,3%.
"I nearly felt like I owed it to everybody to be that gay boy", Totah said.
"But I realized over the past few years that hiding my true self is not healthy".
Her supportive mother Christine said "okay, let's do it" and within three days, Totah was meeting with a pediatrician and then a specialist who put her on hormone blockers. It's something everyone wants, to feel understood. She knew as early as age five, "long before I understood what the word gender meant", that she was female.
"As I learned more information about hormone replacement therapy, I knew that this was what I had to do", Totah wrote. I'm going to gun for those roles, be it a transgender female or a cisgender female.
"I found myself playing that role once I got into the entertainment industry, and people kept assuming my identity", she wrote. "I'm transgender. And I need to go through this". "Because it's a clean slate - and a new world".
