It was Juventus' ninth win in nine matches this season as the Italian club remained ideal in all competitions.

The second matchday of the UEFA Champions League group stage saw champions Real Madrid lose, Bayern Munich and Manchester United were held in disappointing displays while Juventus continued their flawless start to the season.
