Cristiano Ronaldo helped Juventus maintain their flawless start to the season with a goal at Udinese at the end of a week overshadowed by the reopening of a police investigation into a rape allegation made against the Portugal forward.
Unstoppable Juventus maintained their flawless start to the season after 10 matches when first-half goals from Rodrigo Bentancur and Cristiano Ronaldo gave them a 2-0 win at Udinese in Serie A on Saturday.
"I see Ronaldo calm, he is ready to play".
In the second half, he had two low strikes kept out by the excellent Scuffet, who also dived sharply low to his right to deny Federico Bernardeschi after the substitute was set up by Ronaldo.
Young Uruguayan midfielder Bentancur spoke midweek about coach Allegri urging him to get forward more often to become a goal threat, and he certainly appears to have learned quickly.
Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to play for Juventus against Udinese on Saturday despite the rape claims made against him in the United States, coach Massimiliano Allegri said on Friday as the Italian champions try to maintain their ideal start to the Serie A season.
"Go Juventus", wrote Maria Dolores Alveiro on Instagram, alongside a photo of Ronaldo embracing her.
On Saturday, Costa told viewers that Ronaldo deserved a presumption of innocence and that he did not need the accusations to stain his reputation.
Oddly enough Cristiano Ronaldo's current club Juventus have chosen to stand by their star player and have released a number of tweets to show support towards the forward.
"Rape is just an excuse. If he had stayed at Real Madrid nobody would have said a thing", Juventus supporter Stefano Pianeta said outside the stadium, referring to Ronaldo's recent transfer from Madrid.
Added Fabrizio Paduna, another Juventus fan, when asked about the rape case, "It's just rumours for me".
On Thursday, Juventus sent a statement of support and called him a 'great champion.' But sponsors Nike and video game maker EA Sports have expressed concern about the allegation. Another headline said "World of Juve shaken" after the club's share price plunged nearly 10% on Friday.
It was Ronaldo's fourth goal this season for Juventus, with the 33-year-old celebrating wildly with his teammates, as the Italian champions claimed their tenth consecutive win in all competitions.
Juventus have won all eight of their Serie A matches this season and lead the Italian championship by nine points after Saturday's matches.
