Selena Gomez is reportedly seeking treatment after suffering an alleged mental breakdown.

The singer was recently hospitalized for a second time with a plummeting white blood cell count, and the emergency "threw Selena into a downward emotional spiral", TMZ reported, citing unnamed sources.

A source tells ET that Bieber is "upset" about the news of Gomez's hospitalization.

Around this same time previous year, Gomez shocked fans by revealing that, due to lupus complications, she'd received a kidney transplant from her best friend Francia Raisa over the summer. One of Gomez's relatives then drove the "despondent" singer-actress from her home in Studio City, Calif.to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. "Selena tried ripping the IV's out of her arm".

Another insider said Selly had "a couple of tough weeks leading up to" the panic attack that caused her to seek help.

Selena is allegedly receiving Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), a therapy she has used in the past.

"I've discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges", the singer said in a statement upon entering. The "It Ain't Me" singer started giving away her clothes on Instagram and sent a weird message to Jennifer Lopez on Instagram, which was the final straw before announcing a social media hiatus.

"Selena has dealt with depression for a while and her and the people around her have always kept an eye on how she feels, even more so since her kidney transplant". She wrote: "Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody's feelings". Soon after, she left all social media channels.
