Impact Wrestling producer Petey Williams claimed on his podcast that this marked the last match Aries had on his contract and is done with the company.

As seen at Sunday's Bound for Glory pay-per-view event at the Melrose Ballroom in New York City, New York, Johnny Impact beat Austin Aries in the main event to win the Impact World Title.

After losing to Johnny Impact in the main event, Aries immediately got off the mat, spit at his opponent, flipped off Executive Vice President Don Callis, and flipped off the crowd on his way to the back.

Austin Aries held the Impact Wrestling World Championship and as a belt collector, he sought out other prizes to add to his collection. Johnny captured the title by defeating Austin Aries in a match that was the culmination of a controversial and heated feud.

With those limitations in mind, Impact served up a flawed but relatively entertaining three hour show, which kept bloat minimal even if there were two undeniable stinkers among the eight-match card.

"I'll just say it straight up, right now". Aries' contract situation was clear backstage after Bound For Glory when he told people that he would not be at the TV tapings.
