Ellen DeGeneres Welcomes Rescued Thai Soccer Team To Her Show

"They knew that if they didn't come out, eventually someone would have to come in and get them out".

Twelve boys saved during the Thai cave rescue were left speechless after their footballing hero Zlatan Ibrahimovic surprised them during a television interview.

With the help of a Thai interpreter, DeGeneres spoke with the Wild Boars and their coach, Ekkapol Ake Chantawong (known to players as "Coach Ake"), about their harrowing experience being trapped inside Thailand's Tham Luang Cave for more than two weeks starting on June 23.

They also revealed that they were forced to drink water that was dripping off stalactites because the water on the cave floor was dirty.

Ellen is the best at surprises and gave them a big one - a visit from the L.A. Galaxy's Zlatan Ibrahimović, who called them the "best team in the world".

They said they realised how many days had passed because one of the boys had a watch which stated the time and date.

Ellen asked the team, who entered the cave on June 23, if they remembered anything from the unsafe rescue mission.

Now that they are free, the boys all have the same goal.

But on Monday (Oct 15), on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, he said: "This team is braver than me". Their plans for the future are to get good educations, which will lead to good jobs, but they also continue playing soccer to provide for their families. "And they show their collective team work and had patience, faith, and belief in other hands also".

Ibrahimovic then gave away LA Galaxy merchandise and invited the team to a special training session with the rest of his teammates.

"This is probably the best team in the world".

Details of the incident are still captivating the public and the boys have since received invites from all over the world.
