A former college football star who was recently dropped from the Atlanta Falcons has been arrested after he allegedly had sex with a 12-year-old girl.
It was Crawford's wife Kenya, the mother of his two young sons, who caught him around 5am on Saturday morning, police said.
The wife went back to sleep in their home off Wynnton Road, but she did not rest easy, worrying about what she had seen, Detective Mark Scruggs testified in Columbus Recorder's Court.
Former West Virginia running back Justin Crawford was arrested Saturday by police in Columbus, Ga., on charges of aggravated child molestation, incest with a minor, sodomy, and enticing a minor for indecent purposes, according to an arrest report obtained by The Dominion Post. She then went back to bed with the hopes of revisiting the incident at a later time.
Australia v New Zealand rugby league Tests in Auckland
"I love the attitude; I loved the way they kept hanging in; I loved the way we almost won the footy game", Meninga said. New Zealand was on a three-match losing streak in tests against all countries, and discouraged fans stayed away.
Crawford is now being held without bond at the Muscogee County Jail.
The 12-year-old was taken to the hospital, where doctors administered a rape kit to collect any DNA evidence.
Crawford denied having any sexual contact with the girl when initially questioned by detectives, but he later admitted to the encounter, saying the sexual contact was the girl's idea, according to Scruggs' testimony. Crawford's wife, Chakeya Crawford, later said that she only saw him exposing himself and he immediately ran from the living room into the kitchen to cover up.
Crawford, a former JUCO player of the year, had back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons at West Virginia in 2016 and '17. In May, he signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent but was cut by the team in September, according to the team's website.
