FBI launch investigation after EXPLOSIVE DEVICE found near home of George Soros

An explosive device was found in a mailbox at George Soros's Westchester County home on Monday, the New York Times reported.

The Bedford Police Department in NY said it responded to the address after an employee of the residence opened the package.

The case has been handed over to the Joint Terrorism Task Force Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bedford Police Department says. An employee at Soros' home opened the package, and, after realising what it was, left the device in a wooded area.

Over the course of decades, Soros has given billions of dollars away in philanthropic efforts - including $18 billion to the Open Society Foundation, which he founded in 1993.

A law enforcement official told the New York Times that the device was "proactively detonated" by sappers after they arrived on the scene in the town of Bedford in Westchester.

The bomb squad deactivated the device, and authorities have said there is no further threat to the area, according to the Journal. Jeff Flake over his decision to vote for Brett Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court were actors paid by Soros.

He is also the subject of many unfounded conspiracy theories.

Soros, long a boogey man on the right, has been in the news recently after being accused of orchestrating the migrant caravan now working its way through Mexico.
