Here’s Why Patriots’ Demaryius Thomas Trade Offer Fell Short

Thomas knew his time in Denver was nearly up.

The Broncos have traded wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and a seventh round draft pick to the Houston Texans for a fourth round draft pick and a seventh round pick, the team announced on Tuesday.

The move not only ends one era in Denver and begins another with Sutton, but it also sets the stage for an awkward and freaky Week 9 meeting between the teams in Denver on Sunday.

The Broncos also have rookie DaeSean Hamilton and second-year pro Tim Patrick at wide receiver along with Jordan "Sunshine" Taylor, who's about to return from double hip surgery in the off-season.

Thomas had 36 catches for 402 yards and three touchdowns this season.

Cardi B unleashes on Nicki Minaj in expletive-filled Instagram rant
You know where to link me...we could talk about it, to we could fight it out, I'm with whatever... I'm happily living my own life and lamenting on the things that go on in it like everyone else.

Thomas is second on the all-time receiving yards list for the Broncos behind only Rod Smith (11,389).

Thomas acknowledged the trade rumors that have involved him in recent weeks and guessed he had a "50-50" chance of being dealt before Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET trade deadline despite wanting to remain with the Broncos.

"I love D.T.", Harris said. The Texans will be in Denver Sunday afternoon to take on the Broncos. "When you don't win, I think anything can happen".

Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas of the Broncos appeals to the referee for a touchdown call after making a catch on the edge of the end zone against the Seahawks at Broncos Stadium at Mile High on September 9, 2018.

The next season he was catching passes from Manning and he set a Super Bowl record in 2014 with 13 receptions for 118 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos' loss to Seattle. He profiles as a top 25-35 guy who can be a weekly starting option in fantasy football (Thomas is 35th right now in rankings, and Sutton could outperform him).
