UFC President Dana White has said that retired boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. must come to the UFC if he wishes to fight Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

White is now focused on Nurmagomedov handling his business with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, whom he landed in hot water with after he leapt over the Octagon fence to get at Conor McGregor's corner after he submitted the Irishman at UFC 229 in early October.

But White wants to see the fight happen in a mixed martial arts arena.

'Listen, if Mayweather wants to fight, come fight. You fight in the UFC. "We're not boxing again", White told TMZ Sports. We did that once, it's over. "You wanna fight, you come fight... a real fight".

Nurmagomedov is now suspended from fighting in the UFC after the ugly scenes that followed his fight with "Notorious" last month.

After forcing the Irishman to tap out, Nurmagomedov and his team launched an assault on McGregor and his team.

But White believes the Russian, who earned a well-deserved victory over rival McGregor earlier this month, should face Tony Ferguson in the octagon next.

Nurmagomedov is now serving a suspension issued by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after that clash ended in an all-out brawl.

"Tony Ferguson is the right fight", he said.

"It's the fight to make, we'll see how this whole thing plays out, it all depends on the suspension".

"We'll see how this whole thing plays out because it's obviously gonna depend on the suspension and what happens and we'll see".
