Driver charged in crash at school bus stop that killed 3 siblings


A preliminary investigation showed the yellow school bus was in the northbound lane of State Road 25 with its emergency lights flashing and its stop-sign arm out when the children were struck by the southbound truck, Slocum said. The rural Rochester residents were students at nearby Mentone Elementary School.

State Police say three children were struck and killed by a pickup truck in northern in as they were about to board a school bus.

The 24-year-old woman who was driving a 2017 Toyota Tacoma was on the scene when police arrived, officials said.

The crash happened around 7:30 a.m. local time.

Just last week, a 16-year-old Decatur High School student was hit when a vehicle drove around the school bus he was boarding.
