Kendricks receives eight-game ban

The NFL has put a number on the "indefinite" suspension of Seattle Seahawks linebacker Mychal Kendricks who was convicted of insider trading.

Pro Football Talk reported the specifics of Kendricks' suspension first, citing an unidentified source with knowledge of the situation, and the Seattle Times confirmed the details, citing an unidentified NFL official.

Kendricks pleaded guilty to the charges on September 6. The Browns released him shortly thereafter and Kendricks then signed with the Seahawks just one week after pleading guilty.

He will be eligible to practice in Week 12 before returning for the December 10 game against the Vikings on Monday Night Football, a source told Schefter.

According to multiple reports from National Football League insiders, Kendricks is suspended eight games for violating the Personal Conduct Policy - with credit for games he's already sat out.

Kendricks also may return to the Seahawks on November 12 and participate in meetings and practices.

Unless Seattle reaches the Super Bowl, Kendricks will likely be able to play in every game after he returns from suspension because the sentencing for his case will not be until January 24, 2019.

Through three games this season with the Seahawks, Kendricks recorded 2.0 sacks and 15 combined tackles (13 solo). They play the Chargers on Sunday.
