Naomi Watts To Star In HBO's 'Game Of Thrones' Prequel Series

Just because this series is set millennia before Game of Thrones, that doesn't mean we won't be getting our fair share of Westerosi history.

Variety reports that Watts, who earned Oscar nominations for her work in 21 Grams and The Impossible, will be playing "a charismatic socialite hiding a dark secret".

Fans have been speculating that HBO may have inadvertently revealed the setting for the series in a new casting call, which calls for a diverse mix of characters, leading to speculation that one of the prequels will be set in the fictional location of Essos, a landmass found to the east of Westeros. As it stands, we won't be seeing the final season of Game of Thrones for several more months, and given that the network will want some gap between the show and its prequel, it seemed like we had some time. The line-up of female directors is even more dismal, with only one woman directing the series (Michelle MacLaren), who has directed four episodes, another 5.5% representation.

Kendricks receives eight-game ban
The Browns released him shortly thereafter and Kendricks then signed with the Seahawks just one week after pleading guilty . Through three games this season with the Seahawks, Kendricks recorded 2.0 sacks and 15 combined tackles (13 solo).

Goldman's screenplays include "X-Men" films "First Class" and "Days of Future Past", the "Kingsman" films and "Kick-Ass". She is also writing the script for Disney's live-action The Little Mermaid. Plot details for the series remain under wraps, however, the logline for the untitled prequel series is as follows: "Taking place thousands of years before the events of GAME OF THRONES, the series chronicles the world's descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour". But don't expect to see the prequel series launch anytime soon.

Bloys agreed the prequel will feel "very different" since it represents a different time in Westeros, though he added it will still have a classic "Game of Thrones" feel.
