Israel considers the entire city its capital, while the Palestinians see east Jerusalem as the capital of their future state, with worldwide consensus being that the status of the whole city must be negotiated between the two sides.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed the plan, which Bolsonaro had promised during the election campaign. The move will make his giant Latin American country the third after the United States and Guatemala made the controversial switch.

In interviews, Bolsonaro said Israel should have the right to decide where its capital is located, just as Brazil moved its capital from Rio de Janeiro to Brasilia in 1960.

"As previously stated during our campaign, we intend to transfer the Brazilian Embassy from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem", Bolsonaro wrote on Twitter. The Palestinians want the city as the capital of their future state. "Can we maintain diplomatic relations with a country that treats its people that way?"

Palestinian Islamic resistance movement, Hamas, has called upon Brazil's far-right President-elect Jair Bolsonaro to reverse his decision to move his country's embassy from Tel Aviv to Israeli-occupied Jerusalem al-Quds.

"It is very unfortunate that Brazil has joined this negative alliance against global law", Ashrawi said.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar also denounced the assassination and sought a report from the Inspector General Punjab Police. The religious scholar was the founder of the Haqqania seminary, where dozens of Afghan leaders have received their education.

But the one who's going to decide the environmental question will also be Mr Jair Bolsonaro.

Recall that in December, 2017, President Donald Trump of the United States of America recognized Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.

Israel occupied east Jerusalem in the 1967 Six-Day War and later annexed it in a move never recognized by the global community.

Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem has never been recognised internationally, and according to the 1993 Israel-Palestinian peace accords, the final status of Jerusalem is meant to be discussed in the latter stages of peace talks.

Bolsonaro was elected as Brazil's next president on Oct.28 and plans to take office on January 1.

However, Paraguay announced in October 2018 that it would return its embassy to Tel Aviv.
