This is will also be Mayweather's first fight in well over a year, where he defeated Conor McGregor in a highly-publicized boxing bout in August 2017.

Floyd Mayweather has won world titles in five different weight classes and is 50-0 in an unparalleled boxing career but he could be set for a stunning detour into fight with modified rules after signing with Japanese promoters RIZIN Fighting Federation. UFC boss Dana White said last week that a fight between the two would have to be in the UFC, which is something Mayweather would probably never agree to. Throughout the years, I've seen a lot of fans from Japan come to Las Vegas and come to the USA, but me and my team said let's do something different.

As for Nasukawa, the 20-year old fighter from Japan is now 27-0 as a professional kickboxer with 21 knockouts.

Mayweather posted a teaser photo on his Instagram feed at the weekend, showing him wearing kickboxing gloves.

In September, Mayweather said he planned to come out of retirement again and announced he would face Pacquiao in a rematch in December. It's not out of the realm of possibility that the bout is fought under kickboxing rules.

Nasukawa is an undefeated 20-year-old who recently beat former UFC fighter Kyoji Horiguchi in a kickboxing match.

Ewan McGregor será Black Mask en Birds of Prey
Ewan McGregor (Angels & Demons, Deception) es el nuevo rostro que se une al elenco como su villano principal, encarnando a Roman Sionis " Black Mask ".

The shock announcement was made during a Rizin 14 press conference. Though many took Mayweather's MMA aspirations as a bluff, it looks like he may actually back up his talk ... just not against any UFC competition.

"When I was offered this, I accepted right away without any delay whatsoever", he said through a translator.

Stay tuned for more information on this event as it becomes available. "I can do anything if I set my mind to it". I'm pretty sure that will get sorted out in the next couple weeks.

"It's always been a goal of mine to go outside the USA and go into another arena and display talent as a professional because I did it as an amateur".

Ariel Helwani said tonight that the rules and weight still had to be worked out.
