A 10-year-old Wisconsin girl was led into court in handcuffs Monday morning and charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of a 6-month-old boy.
"She stated she was holding the child and that's when she dropped the child", Wade said.
The girl is now in the adult court system and appeared in Chippewa County Court on Monday morning.
Prosecutors say first responders were called October 30 to a licensed home day care near Chippewa Falls.
Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk from Chippewa County Sheriff's Department said the infant hit his head on a footstool and he started crying before the girl panicked and stamped on his head.

Kowalczyk said the infant was pronounced dead at the Gillette Children's Hospital in St Paul, Minnesota.
Police said that they received a call from a caretaker saying that they had found the boy bleeding from the head and unresponsive. A local doctor who examined the baby determined that the injuries were not accidental, he added.
According to the Star Tribune, the sobbing 10-year-old's mother held her as the judge explained the charge before ordering a $50,000 cash bond.
According to the district attorney, the girl was in foster care at a home which also serves as a daycare in Tilden.
