Cheryl also revealed that she'd like her mum to move in with her, explaining: "I would like her [my mum] to live with me but she will not".
Speaking about what to expect from her new album, Cheryl said: 'All the music and all the songs that I've got ready were done way before we split - none of them are about anybody.
"She's always there to be fair to her, or [Liam's] parents come down as well".
Cheryl has revealed her son, who turned one in March - will be able to "run to his presents" this year as she opened up on the festive season as a mum.
Liam, 25, has said he's happy to leave their son with his ex, telling People magazine earlier this year: "Babies want their mum; I would never have wanted to get in the way of that".
However, while Liam may not be the subject matter of Cheryl's new song, he didn't come out of the interview completely unscathed.
"I could be doing something I hate doing and feel the same way, so why am I like putting myself through this?" I'd just had enough.
Cheryl has been hitting the promo tour with a vengeance this past week, after hiding from public life the majority of these past two years.
Cheryl's admission comes as she prepares to release new single Love Made Me Do It, a track that will no doubt feature when she takes to the stage at Jingle Ball on December 9.

"None of them are about anybody".
"When I'm in a room, I'm not sat there with other writers thinking about somebody".
"In business I know what I like and I don't like but in my romantic area I am not so evolved".
"That area has just stopped, it's the end...it's the end".
She adamantly continued: "It's not happening anymore. It's the end. It's the end".
But Cheryl says this is all in the past, and she's done with relationships - perhaps for good.
