Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson was honored with a damehood in London.
According to the charity's official site, "every year the Fawcett Society marks Equal Pay Day, the day from which women effectively stop earning relative to men".
Prolific actress Emma Thompson became a dame on Wednesday and promptly used her new title to ask for a kiss from Britain's Prince William.
She added "If you're first up you have to be more formal on such an occasion, but he's looking wonderful and doing so well".

He hit a single to give Carter a run who then plundered three more sixes, all off half volleys, to make it 43 off the over. South Africa-born fast bowler Willem Ludick was at the receiving end as he was taken to the cleaners, literally.
She said: "I love Prince William, I've known him since he was little, and we just sniggered at each other".
"I've worked really hard in what I believe in", said Gordy, who was recognised for her services to the arts and people with disabilities. "He said, 'This day isn't about me, it's about you'".
As someone who's been in the public eye for decades, Thompson has crossed paths with the royals before and is apparently an old friend of Prince Charles. "It's a very lovely feeling", she said.
In June, the Thompson was named for the honor among a group of British actors and artists, including Tom Hardy and Keira Knightley, but revealed she had some reservations about the historical implications about accepting the award.
She plans to use the honour to focus attention on the plight of poor children who don't get adequate food during school holidays.
