Honda Passport will be built in United States and debut at LA show

After rumors swirled at the start of 2018 over a reborn Honda Passport, the brand has confirmed the nameplate's revival.

The new Honda Passport will be positioned between the CR-V and the Pilot when it launches in the USA market early next year. The two-row crossover will compete against Ford's Edge, Chevrolet's new Blazer, Hyundai's Santa Fe and Nissan's Murano in the midsize crossover segment.

The original 1993 Passport was Honda's first SUV, although it wasn't really a Honda. Shortly after discontinuing the Passport, Honda rolled out the more car-like and practical Pilot. The company also says the Passport will be designed, developed, and built right here in the US with Honda's Lincoln, Alabama plant taking on assembly duties.
