EPL: Liverpool star, Van Dijk criticises Cristiano Ronaldo

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has waded into Dejan Lovren's war of words with Sergio Ramos by admitting the Real Madrid skipper isn't his "type of central defender".

Lovren and Ramos were once again on opposing sides when Croatia beat Spain 3-2 in the UEFA Nations League on Thursday. "Buddy! They are a bunch of p*****s".

Ramos drew the ire of Liverpool fans after injuring Mohamed Salah during last season's Champions League final, and he has since been involved in a feud with Salah's close friend and teammate Lovren.

Now Van Dijk has added further fuel to the flames by backing up Lovren's assertion that Raphael Varane is on a different level to his centre back partner at Real.

Lovren has since been critical of the Real Madrid star saying earlier this month (via Sport English), "If you look, Ramos, he has many more mistakes than me but he's at Real Madrid". An excellent defender, young and has already won a lot.

Number of missing grows to more than 1,000 in California’s massive wildfire
It has burned through 98,000 acres since it started on November 8, and is now 82 percent contained, though three people have died. As of Saturday, NBC reports that the fire is the deadliest in the United States in a century, with a confirmed death toll of 71.

This argument between the two centre-backs has been mainly one-way, ever since Lovren called himself one of the best defenders in the world during the World Cup and criticised the Real Madrid captain.

Lovren spoke about Ramos earlier this month in an interview where he claimed the Spain worldwide makes a lot of mistakes, in the latest of a number of incidents of bad feeling between Liverpool players and Ramos.

While Lovren is seemingly adamant these were intentional, Van Dijk was more reserved in his stance-though he was emphatic on how it changed the game.

"Suddenly Marcelo, Benzema and Ronaldo all focussed on our young right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold and left the entire right side open".

"With Salah, they would not have dared". "Sometimes I think about that night".
