Ex-49ers RB Jarryd Hayne Arrested for Sexual Assault, Faces 20 Years

The report states that New South Wales Police launched an investigation after receiving reports a woman had been sexually assaulted by a man she met on social media.

The woman alleges she sustained an injury during the non-consensual encounter in the NSW Hunter Valley region on September 30.

The 30-year-old turned himself in at Ryde Police Station this afternoon and was arrested by officers.

Hayne, a two-time Dally M Medallist, is one of the biggest names in the NRL and had a magical run to help the Eels to the 2009 grand final.

Hayne made his NRL debut with the Parramatta Eels at 18 years of age.

The alleged incident happened on September 30, the NRL Grand Final night.

He said 17 local governments have been delivered from insurgency in the Northeast. His focus on corruption may be offset by Nigeria's slow growth.

He left the Eels to play American football in 2015 with the San Francisco 49ers but returned to Australia the following year.

After questioning by detectives from the sex crimes squad, Hayne was charged with aggravated sexual assault - inflicting actual bodily harm.

The former Parramatta and NSW origin star is now out of contract and the allegations will severely damage his prospects of a new NRL deal.

Hayne went to the Sydney police station with his lawyer after the alleged victim, a woman in her 20s, was interviewed by investigators last week, commercial broadcaster Channel Ten reported.

Hayne will face Burwood Local Court on December 10.
