The news of the actor's engagement is likely a bright spot on an otherwise hard week, as he tweeted last Thursday that he returned home after attending his uncle's funeral to discover that his home had a leak while he was away.
"I arrived home from my uncle's funeral to find 4 of my 5-story brownstone home under 3 feet of water", he said.

The truth about Donald Trump's Bin Laden 'prediction'
Trump has doubled down on his criticism of Washington's handling of the hunt for bin Laden in his latest rant on Twitter. The entire brouhaha with McRaven and bin Laden was sparked when Wallace asked Trump to defend his attacks on the media.
"I'm devastated and exhausted from a tough week with the loss of my Uncle Skip, 45 hours of travel to and from France to walk in to find this disaster", he added.
Muniz said he cried more over two days than his "whole life combined".
"I know this sounds ridiculous, but I swear it's true", he tweeted. Forgive me for venting. "I truly can not wait to be your wife", she said. "You wouldn't believe the destruction". "She's so strong and exactly what I need".
Muniz also thanked his girlfriend for helping him come to terms with the turn of events, which forced the couple to check into a nearby hotel, but even that stay hasn't been without drama.
'Just woke up to fire alarms and had to evacuate the hotel we are staying in because of what happened to our house, ' he shared with his followers.
