Officials have confirmed that the president's daughter used a personal email account to send hundreds of emails relating to government business a year ago, the Washington Post reports.

According to emails released by the watchdog group, American Oversight, Trump used her personal account to email Cabinet officials, White House aides and assistants.
Ms. Trump had told people in the White House that she was unaware of the rules when she was using her personal account. At rally after rally, Trump discussed her server, buoyed by chants of "Lock her up!" from his crowds.

Joy Behar pushed back, citing the report that she sent emails throughout the year after her father was elected: "So there's really no excuse".
It's doubly ironic because Ivanka Trump had a lot to say about proper email practices in her 2010 book The Trump Card: Playing to Win in Work and Life.

An administration official confirmed the Post report and was aware of Ms. Trump's emails, and characterized them as containing information related mostly to logistics and personal interests.
Lowell also claimed that Ivanka did not receive "the same guidance" after assuming her role as other government employees have.
The emails were found after a public records lawsuit was filed against the White House.
"The president's family is not above the law, and there are serious questions that Congress should immediately investigate", Austin Evers, the group's executive director, said in a statement.
