‘Blue Beetle’ Movie in the Works at DC, Warner Bros

According to a new report from The Wrap, writer Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer is working on the script for the new movie, while Zev Foreman will serve as executive producer for Warner Bros.

In the comics created by Keith Giffen, John Rogers, and Cully Hammer, Mexican-American teenager Jaime Reyes is the third character to assume the mantle of the Blue Beetle after Dan Garret and Ted Kord.

Stocks markets surge on hint of slower rate hikes
The Federal Reserve chairman has presided over three interest rate increases this year and is widely expected to hike again in December.

In comic books, Jaime Reyes wields an alien scarab that can form armor and weapons over his body. Reyes worked with Kord's former teammate and best friend, Booster Gold, and was inducted into the Teen Titans. This will mark the first time a Latino lead will be featured in a stand-alone superhero title for DC.

In addition to his 12-year comic book history, Jaime Reyes has been a major presence in other DC Comics-based media, including the live-action series Smallville and the animated series Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Young Justice: Invasion, and more. Are you ready for a Blue Beetle movie?
