Richard Sherman not sentimental about former Seahawks teammates

Sherman is never one to mince words, and he's spoken out about the Seahawks several times before. "We were teammates, and we played during a very special time for the (Seahawks) franchise".

It was a tip of Colin Kaepernick's pass intended for Michael Crabtree in that January 2014 NFC title game.

Despite Sherman's unceremonious exit from Seattle, during which he was recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, he's well aware of what Wilson brings to the table - good and bad.

Richard Sherman isn't done talking about his abrupt release from the Seahawks, and he still appears to be upset with how his time with Seattle ended. It was a concern born out of the last-minute Super Bowl XXIX loss to the Patriots in 2017 and led to the rapid dismantling of the Seahawks' vaunted defense.

Sherman's comments come three days before the 49ers cornerback makes the trip to Seattle for the first time as a visiting player.

It started when a reporter mentioned to just how unsafe Wilson can be when he scrambles.

So much for loyalty to a former teammate.

"I've also seen him throw five picks in a game", Sherman said. "You see what he's capable of on both sides of it". "I would really have liked for him to stay here, and have an opportunity to finish his career with this organization". Shortly after being released, Sherman said that he thought Seattle "kind of lost their way a little bit" in terms of evaluating talent and that head coach Pete Carroll's "philosophy is more built for college". "You understand that he can be defended, so you go out there and give it your best shot".

"He's going to be a Hall-of-Fame corner", Wilson said. "I'm grateful for that".
