Apple Music arrives on Amazon’s Echo speakers starting December 17

This skill enables services to use a wide range of Alexa capabilities across different smart device types, including multi-room audio, visual search on Echo Show and Spot, using music for alarms, and more. Usage should be straightforward to Alexa users; Amazon gives the phrase "Alexa, play Bebe Rexha on Apple Music" as an example.

In case you needed another reason not to buy a HomePod, Amazon just announced that support for Apple Music is coming to Echo devices starting the week of 17th December. Just ask Alexa to play Beats 1 to hear Apple Music's global livestream including in-depth artist interviews- all completely ad-free. Most of these services work on Google Home smart speakers as well, but it's unlikely that Apple Music will ever follow their suit.

"Music is one of the most popular features on Alexa", said Dave Limp, senior vice president of Amazon Devices.
