The competition kicks off at 10:15 local time on Saturday, when Canada take on Scotland before the other Pool D match sees Australia, who placed fourth in Dubai, face Wales. In South Africa, they are drawn in Pool C alongside Fiji, France and England.

The Chiefs have helped to ease the New Zealand men's sevens team's injury crisis.

Speaking at the captains' launch, South Africa captain Philip Synman looked forward to the weekend and being part of centenary celebrations, playing in the unique Madiba- jersey. We have to go in lower with our tackles this weekend.
