Kevin Durant Says Players Dislike "Toxic" Environment Around LeBron James

"Guys similar to (LeBron), why would they want to play with somebody who does all the same things?"

Among the multitudinous NBAers asked about the topic, Kevin Durant had some noteworthy ideas.

"If you're a younger player like a Kawhi, trying to pair him with LeBron James doesn't really make sense", Durant claimed.

In a story published by Bleacher Report on Wednesday, both Durant and now-Lakers teammate Tyson Chandler both were quoted about why some star players might perhaps be hesitant to play alongside James. "He has so many fanboys in the media".

The reality is they will only get one of those players via a trade and even if it were Wall, who is earning $19.1 million this season but will have a four-year supermax contract extension from next season earning him an average of $42 million annually, the Lakers could still potentially have the cap space to sign Durant.

"Once I got in, it was just a matter of me trying to make plays and seeing what happened".

Although James may be used to the constant pressure, media and negativity, it can be quite the burden for his teammates to handle as Durant pointed out. Especially when the attention is b******* attention, fluff. It's not LeBron's fault at all; it's just the fact you have so many groupies in the media that love to hang on every word.

Just five days later, the Lakers played the Spurs once again, and while it wasn't as high scoring of an affair, the Spurs came out on top. "Like, young players that are still developing, it's always going to be hard because he demands the ball so much, he demands control of the offense and he creates for everybody".

"Kevin Love, he had to totally change his game to fit, to be a shooter", Durant said. "You just know. I said it before, he's the best player to ever put on the jersey, so I mean, you know". Kawhi enjoys having the ball in his hands, controlling the offense, dictating the tempo with his post-ups; it's how he plays the game. "It's early. We count on LeBron to do a lot for us and there's a lot of responsibility that comes with the type of player he is. They don't need another guy". Ariza said. "I can see why they would want to play elsewhere".

"He's very unselfish. He's won multiple championships with other superstars".

"I don't want to get people too up or too down. He's a victor and he's an incredible player and he's unselfish".
