Steelers vow to ban fan who choked pregnant Chargers fan


The yet-unidentified Steelers fan who put his hand on the throat of a pregnant Chargers fan may have seen his last National Football League game in Pittsburgh. A Steelers fan was pictured with his hand around a pregnant Charger fans neck.

Daniel Minshew told the website that he and his wife, who is 26-weeks pregnant, were "subjected to verbal and physical abuse the entire evening" when they traveled from San Diego to Pittsburgh's Heinz Field to see the Chargers play on December 2. One of the men, wearing a Steelers jersey, then grabbed the woman around her neck.

Minshew also said that there was "no security or presence of law enforcement was visible in the actual section".

"My wife and I attend several road games annually and I myself have been to approximately a dozen away games and have never experienced anything like we did Sunday night", Daniel Minshew, the unnamed woman's husband, said to the Pittsburgh Current.

The Pittsburgh Police Department confirmed that they are investigating the confrontation.

"As always, Heinz Field Management takes all incidents very seriously for the safety and security of our fans and will take the appropriate actions against the individuals that violate our code of conduct, " Heinz Field management said in a statement.

"We are working with Heinz Field security as well as local authorities to gather more information on this particular incident as the Pittsburgh Police determines whether or not to press charges, and we will ensure those involved as the aggressors will not be permitted back into our stadium".
