Baby girl breaks into infectious laughter after hearing her sister’s voice


The family had no clue how little Scarlet could hear - until she got her first hearing aids.

In the footage, Scarlet, who was born three months early, looks at her sister Halie in amazement as soon as the device is fitted to her ear at Atlanta Hearing Associates in Milledgeville, Georgia.

On Thursday, Benjamin brought Scarlet to Atlanta Hearing Associates in Milledgeville, Ga. where she was outfitted with a pair of hearing aids.

Her mother said that Scarlet's hearing was impaired by an antibiotic she was given in the neo-natal intensive care unit to treat an infection.

When baby Scarlet was born three months premature, her parents were so anxious about her health.

'She reacted to most sounds so we thought she could hear fairly well.

Scarlet's spontaneous laughter continues as she listens to her mother and sisters voices talking to her. Benjamin wrote in the caption accompanying the clip. "I know!" Benjamin says to her baby in the video.

The mother also thanked the specialists at Atlanta Hearing in her Facebook post. "It was one of the absolute best days of our lives", Benjamin said.
