Ant McPartlin confirms return to work with Declan Donnely later this week

Ant McPartlin will return to his post as a BGT presenter tomorrow (17 January), it has been confirmed.

ITV presenter Richard Arnold announced the news on Good Morning Britain, revealing that Ant will return to work on Britain's Got Talent, with filming starting tomorrow.

They have stiff competition though from Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield, Bradley Walsh and Graham Norton.

Ant past year announced he'd be taking time out from presenting work after his involvement in a collision in south London while he was driving under the influence.

Entertainment editor Richard Arnold told hosts Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard: "I can officially announce that after a year off Ant will start filming on the new series of BGT".

'I thought. "do you know what I would actually rather watch a show about a singing dog", and that's how Got Talent came along'. "How the time flies".

But Ant will be reunited with Dec at this year's auditions for the hit ITV show, which are taking place at the London Palladium.

He added that McPartlin is "looking very well". 2018, Holly Willoughby flew out to Australia to join Dec as the show's hosts.

McPartlin was suspended from driving for 20 months and received an £86,000 fine after crashing his Mini Cooper while more than two times over the legal drink-driving limit.

In the meantime, Dec has either gone it alone - completing last year's series of Saturday Night Takeaway by himself for the first time in his career, or by recruiting new partners.

Ant had previously been in rehab after struggling with a painkiller addiction that stemmed from a knee operation in 2015.
