Man accused of throwing coffee on worker arrested


The South Carolina man is accused of throwing hot coffee at a teenage McDonald's employee because he was upset about his wait for French fries surrendered to law enforcement, according to Camden police.

The Camden Police Department told WACH that a warrant for the arrest of Joshua Emery Noel on charges of second-degree assault and battery was issued on January 11 after officials obtained surveillance footage of a man at a local McDonald's drive-through.

During an interview after he surrendered, Noel admitted to throwing the coffee on the 16-year-old girl, police said.

If convicted, Noel faces up to three years in prison. He was ultimately released on a $7,500 bond.
