Democrats respond to President Trump's border wall offer

He did not distinguish between illegal migration and asylum seekers. Leaders insisted Trump needs to open the government before beginning any negotiations over border security or barrier funding.

In his address from the White House, which began just after 4pm ET, Trump said the almost $6 billion would allow for "steel barriers" in "high priority areas", and asserted that "walls are the opposite of immoral".

"The radical left can never control our borders". I will not let it happen.

Donald Trump's top aides met at the White House last week to brainstorm for a bill that would spend up to $200 billion over 10 years on infrastructure products. He maintained a border barrier was needed to block what he describes as the flow of drugs and crime into the country - but described "steel barriers in high-priority locations" instead of "a 2,000-mile concrete structure from sea to sea". He said that a wall would be built along 230 miles of the border.

His proposal also included extending legislative relief for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients for three years and extending Temporary Protected Status for immigrants whose protections are facing expiration for three years as well.

He said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell would seek quick passage of his proposal. The Senate reconvenes on Tuesday. "It is unlikely that any one of these provisions alone would pass the house, and taken together, they are a non-starter".

In advance of Trump's remarks, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the expected proposal for ending the 29-day partial government shutdown was "a compilation of several previously rejected initiatives, each of which is unacceptable".

U.S. Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin, D-Ill., also did not mince words when he first heard reports of Trump's proposed deal, stating that it did not have much hope in the Senate. Dick Durbin said in a statement Saturday that he would not support the upcoming proposal to reopen the government. Second, I cannot support the proposed offer as reported and do not believe it can pass the Senate.

La relación comenzó luego que la actriz conoció al actor gracias a un ex, Sean Peen , que hizo de " cupido ". Los testigos dijeron que estaban muy juguetones y el que brazo de él estaba alrededor de la espalda de ella.

Some conservatives also voiced their opposition to the deal.

Trump tweeted that amnesty "is not a part" of his shutdown offer, and added that there will be "no big push" to remove undocumented immigrants. "So if we grant citizenship to a BILLION foreigners, maybe we can finally get a full border wall", she wrote on Twitter.

But such a coalition did not appear to be forming, and courting one bears considerable risk for a president who is most comfortable when he is defying convention, eschewing compromise and being hailed as a hero by supporters who often equate bipartisan deal-making with weak-kneed capitulation. He is giving the speech after presiding over a naturalization ceremony for immigrants at the White House. As a result of a budget stalemate the United States government is now into a fifth week of partial shutdown.

President Donald Trump is lashing out at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for rejecting his proposal to exchange temporary protections for some immigrants for $5.7 billion for his border wall.

The White House is thinking of using the plan to fund the next generation wireless network, modernize the air traffic control system, and use the re-authorization of the highway bill as a basis for additional road fix.

Approximately 800,000 federal workers are impacted by the government shutdown, many not receiving a paycheck or working without pay. Mr. Trump said earlier this month that "I can do it if I want". So far, he has not.

"If he opens the government, we'll discuss whatever he offers, but hostage taking should not work", Schumer said.
