Highlights | Round 4 | Desert Classic 2019

When Hadwin pitched superbly to within inches of the hole at the 11th, it created his sixth birdie of the day and had put the Canadian three shots clear on the Stadium Course at the La Quinta Country Club. "It was one of those putts that you just stand over you just know you're going to make".

"It's a course you don't have to be flawless on, you have to hit a lot of good shots in certain spots, but if you miss it, miss it properly, you can still play this course", Mickelson said. "I don't really know what happened".

A clutch approach shot with the ball below his feet that set up Long's closing putt was key for the American, who made seven birdies, three of them in the last five holes.

"Those chip-ins were huge and some putts on the front nine as well to just kind of hang in there", Long said. Everyone was chatting Phil's name and there are a lot of Canadians down here. I've played in pretty much most tours around the world that there are and just kind of steadily progressed.

Adam Long claimed his first professional victory and maiden PGA Tour title with a shock victory at the Desert Classic.

Mickelson, who entered the round with a two-shot lead thanks in large part to an opening-round 60, gave his 38-foot birdie putt on the final hole a great run before it slid by on the low side.

Matías De Los Santos fue el encargado de disparar desde los doce pasos venciendo al guardameta Geovanni Banguera. Este es el primer clásico capitalino del año donde los equipos más grandes de la capital se verán las caras.

The Canadian heads into the final round of the Desert Classic alone in 2nd place at 20-under par, two shots back of leader Phil Mickelson.

But a bogey at 13 slowed his march and he never made another birdie, while Long got hot and Mickelson, despite his putting woes, made birdies at 15 and 16 to move back into contention.

"Living in Phoenix these past few years, this is the golf that I play every day", Hadwin said. And I missed a bunch of short ones on the front and some birdie opportunities, but it felt bad with the putter.

The 48-year-old Mickelson was making his first tour start since early October and first competitive appearance since beating Tiger Woods in Las Vegas in November in a made-for-TV event. "I hit a lot of good shots today, but just couldn't get the ball to go in the hole".
