When Bradley Beal felt his legs go out beneath him, likely ending his chances of scoring the go-ahead basket for the Washington Wizards, he spotted Thomas Bryant standing alone in the lane. However, it is just two games out of the final Eastern Conference playoff spot and owner Ted Leonsis said Thursday the team will do whatever it can to reach the postseason.

The Wizards couldn't buy a bucket if they wanted to for most of the game. Bradley Beal led the team with a triple-double of 43 points, 10 rebounds and 15 assists, Otto Porter Jr. provided the spark with 27 points off the bench while Trevor Ariza racked up 23 points with nine rebounds and 10 assists. Allonzo Trier swatted it away, but he was called for goaltending, and the Wizards took a 101-100 lead with 0.4 seconds remaining.

"It was a great play", Beal said. And what major X-factor makes one side of the spread a must-back? "We got to make the playoffs".

Washington made a weird choice not to foul the Knicks down one with only a three-second differential between the game and shot clock, but were rewarded by a shot clock violation as the Knicks weren't able to draw iron on a three.

"We didn't play the defense we needed to play throughout the game during the first three quarters", Brooks said postgame.

Mudiay scored 25 points, though he missed a heave as time expired, and Luke Kornet finished with 16 points, including 12 in the first quarter, for the Knicks.

Cardi clapped back by saying "I'm paying about 4 million in taxes this year so most likely I am paying for your insurance". Then it turned into an ideological debate of sorts over U.S. tax policy.

Washington trailed 89-79 early in the fourth but pulled within 91-90 on Beal's 33-foot 3-pointer with 6:11 left.

In the first half, NY converted 9 of 18 3-point attempts while the Wizards managed just 4 of 15.

The Knicks held a 10-point lead after the first quarter and pushed it to 19 in the second before entering halftime up 63-53. "Win, lose, or draw, we stick together".

He said: "I expect us to just try and come out here with a lot of energy and try to get this win. We're right here in the playoff hunt, which is where we want to be".

The Wizards overturned a 12-point deficit after the third quarter to enjoy victory at the ninth edition of the NBA Global Games series in the United Kingdom.
